Big fan of great music? There is a lot happening on the music scene in Dubai this weekend; from major gigs that shouldn’t be missed to beach festivals to kick off a summer of sound.

Barasti Beach


Type of Music: Dance


If you love the music festival vibes, you’ll be pretty much living in Barasti this weekend. From Friday May 20 through to Sunday May 22, the very popular beach club will be hosting a dance music festival. And best of all? Entry is free. Three days of whopper music, free access to the pool and beach and endless partying – sounds right up our alley. There will be music from names like Danny Howard of BBC Radio 1 fame, Sandy Rivera and local talent like Marky Mark and Scott Forshaw. This will be one that you won’t want to miss.

SKY 2.0


Type of Music: Hip-Hop, RnB and House


ICYMI, SKY 2.0 is a new and interactive music experience in the heart of D3. This futuristic, open air night life experience is a combination between a slick Dubai bar and a full on music festival. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, you’ll find some top-notch tunes being spun by some big names and local DJs. With three nights of non-stop music, you’re bound to find a genre to suit your mood, whether you’re into hip-hop, RnB or house mash-ups. Open Thursday – Saturday, from 10.30pm-4am. Soho Garden Meydan



Ibiza music brand Music On is playing Soho Garden’s huge Meydan venue on Saturday night. Created by DJ Marco Carola, party-lovers can expect to be transported to Ibiza with a techno house music set. Marco will be joined by Paco Osuna, Ale De Tuglie and Da Vid for a night of cutting edge club sounds. Table bookings can be made by calling, walk-ins may be allowed on the night depending on turnout. Nikki Beach


Type of Music: Electro


PURE is hitting the shores of Nikki Beach on Pearl Jumeirah this weekend. Some big names from the European music scene are set to take to the stage this Sunday May 22 at the new PURE music festival. Einmuzik from Berlin will be bringing some quality house and techno tunes, while Furcoat from Barcelona will spin tunes including the massive hit You & I and Joachim Pastor will get the crowd going with his melodic electro track Reykjavik, which has over 27 million views on YouTube. Pack your sunglasses and slip into your swimwear for the all-day music event – that is not-to-be-missed – will take place from noon until 1am. Zero Gravity

Ready for a Fatboy Slim Beach Party? Prepare to dance your heart out to his legendary tracks as the DJ, real name Norman Quentin Cook, will be entertaining crowds at Dubai’s Zero Gravity on Friday May 20. Back in the UAE for the first time in almost three years, the Right Here, Right Now hitmaker’s gig is not to be missed. Make a day of it at Zero Gravity; the much-loved pool club venue will be hosting a day-to-night brunch package that gives you entry to the venue from 10am.
